quadruplets
Four born together
Quadruplets are four offspring born from the same pregnancy.
The term applies to humans and animals alike.
Quadruplets may be identical (from a single fertilized egg that splits), fraternal (from separate eggs), or a combination.
The singular quadruplet refers to one of the four: She's a quadruplet—her three sisters look just like her.
Often shortened to quads.
