pump and dump
Inflate then sell
Pump and dump describes a scheme where someone artificially inflates an asset's price through hype or misleading promotion, then sells their holdings at the peak before the price collapses.
Originally applied to penny stocks, the term now commonly describes cryptocurrency manipulation: They pumped and dumped that shitcoin and left everyone else holding the bag.
Also refers to expressing breast milk and discarding it—typically after drinking alcohol—so it won't be fed to an infant.
