pre-syncope
Near loss of consciousness
Pre-syncope is the sensation of nearly fainting without actually losing consciousness.
Symptoms include lightheadedness, tunnel vision, weakness, and feeling that you might pass out: I had to sit down when pre-syncope hit me during the ceremony.
The term is medical but increasingly used by patients to describe the warning signs that precede a faint.
