power strips
Electrical outlet extenders
A power strip is an electrical device with multiple outlets connected to a single cord that plugs into a wall socket, allowing several devices to draw power from one source.
Most include a switch to cut power to all outlets at once.
Surge-protecting power strips add circuitry to shield connected electronics from voltage spikes: I plugged the computer, monitor, and printer into a power strip.
