long-range shooting
Far-target ballistic precision
Long-range shooting is marksmanship at distances where bullet drop, wind drift, and other environmental factors become significant—typically beyond 500 yards for rifles.
The discipline requires precise calculations and specialized equipment: He got into long-range shooting after retiring from the military.
The term also applies to basketball shots from well beyond the three-point line.
