plasma donation
Gifting liquid blood
Plasma donation is the process of giving blood plasma—the liquid component of blood—for medical use.
Unlike whole blood donation, plasma donation separates the plasma and returns red blood cells to the donor, allowing more frequent donations.
Donated plasma is used to create therapies for immune disorders, bleeding conditions, and burn treatment.
Plasma donation is often compensated, unlike most blood donation: He donates plasma twice a week for extra cash.
