plain-woven
Basic textile weave
Plain-woven describes fabric made with the simplest weave structure, where threads pass alternately over and under each other in a basic crisscross pattern.
This produces a flat, uniform surface without a distinct texture or pattern: plain-woven cotton, a plain-woven linen tablecloth.
Most basic fabrics—muslin, canvas, cheesecloth—are plain-woven.
