pixellating
Becoming a mosaic
Pixellating describes the process of becoming blocky or mosaic-like, as when a digital image loses resolution and its individual pixels become visible.
Video pixellates when bandwidth drops or compression fails: The stream kept pixellating during the interview.
Broadcasters deliberately pixellate faces, license plates, or body parts to obscure identity or comply with decency standards.
