Pixellations is the plural of pixellation, the visible appearance of individual pixels in a digital image—the blocky, stair-stepped effect when resolution is too low or an image is enlarged beyond its capacity.
Pixellation also refers to deliberately obscuring part of an image by enlarging its pixels, typically to hide faces or sensitive content in video: The documentary used pixellations to protect witnesses' identities.
