pinpointer
Handheld metal finder
A pinpointer is a handheld metal detector used to locate objects precisely after a larger detector has signaled their general area.
Treasure hunters and archaeologists use pinpointers to narrow down exactly where something is buried, reducing unnecessary digging: Once I got a signal, the pinpointer helped me find the coin in seconds.
