pilgrimage route
Holy travel corridor
A pilgrimage route is a traditional path traveled by pilgrims to reach a sacred destination.
The term usually refers to established historical trails with their own infrastructure of hostels, shrines, and waypoints: the Camino de Santiago, the Via Francigena to Rome.
Walking a pilgrimage route may be undertaken for religious devotion, spiritual seeking, or personal challenge—the journey itself often matters as much as the destination.
