petrol bomb
Improvised incendiary weapon
A petrol bomb is a crude incendiary weapon made by filling a bottle with gasoline and fitting it with a wick—typically a cloth stuffed into the neck.
When lit and thrown, the bottle shatters and the fuel ignites.
Also called a Molotov cocktail.
Petrol bomb is the British term; Americans usually say gas bomb or firebomb.
