incendiary device
Deliberate fire starter
An incendiary device is something designed to start fires—from simple Molotov cocktails to sophisticated military weapons.
The term often appears in news reports about arson or terrorism: Police found an incendiary device near the building.
Unlike explosives that destroy through blast force, incendiary devices destroy through sustained burning.
