perinatally
Near delivery time
Perinatally means occurring during the perinatal period—the time shortly before and after birth, typically from about the 22nd week of pregnancy through the first week of life.
The term appears most often in medical contexts: perinatally transmitted infections, perinatally acquired HIV.
It describes events, conditions, or exposures that happen during this critical window surrounding birth.
