pencil sketch
Quick hand-drawn image
A pencil sketch is a drawing made with a pencil, typically quick and informal rather than highly finished.
The term emphasizes the preliminary or casual nature of the work: She made a pencil sketch of the cathedral before starting the oil painting.
Pencil sketches may serve as studies for larger pieces or stand alone as finished art.
