milk carton
Breakfast table staple
A milk carton is a container for milk, typically made of waxed paperboard or plastic-coated cardboard, with a peaked top that opens by pulling apart or a screw cap.
The standard sizes are half-gallon and gallon in the US, or one and two liters elsewhere.
In American culture, milk cartons became associated with missing children when their photos appeared on carton sides in the 1980s: Have you seen this child?
