party caucus
Political group gathering
A party caucus is a meeting of members from the same political party within a legislative body to discuss strategy, coordinate positions, or select leaders.
The term also refers to the group itself: The Democratic caucus voted to oppose the bill.
In legislatures, caucuses allow party members to hash out disagreements privately before presenting a unified front.
