oviducts

Egg transport tubes

Oviducts are the tubes through which eggs pass from the ovaries toward the uterus or outside the body.

In mammals, the oviducts are also called fallopian tubes.

In birds, the oviduct is where the egg white and shell are added before laying.

The term applies broadly across egg-laying animals: The surgeon examined the hen's oviduct for blockage.
