overbought

Too much buying

Overbought is a technical term in financial markets describing a security or asset whose price has risen too quickly or too far, suggesting it may be due for a pullback.

Traders use various indicators to identify overbought conditions, most commonly the relative strength index (RSI).

When a stock is overbought, it doesn't necessarily mean the price will immediately drop, but it signals that buying momentum may be exhausted: The market looks overbought after that rally.
