outside corner

Building's projecting edge

An outside corner is where two surfaces meet to form an outward-projecting angle, the kind you'd bump into rather than step into.

In construction, outside corners require different finishing techniques than inside corners—drywall gets metal corner bead, tile needs bullnose edges.

In baseball, the outside corner is the edge of the strike zone farthest from the batter: The pitcher painted the outside corner for strike three.
