outpricing
Making unaffordable deliberately
Outpricing is setting prices so high that competitors or customers are excluded from a market.
A company outprices rivals by offering lower rates they can't match, or outprices buyers by charging more than they can afford: Gentrification has outpriced longtime residents.
The term works both ways—you can outprice others by being too cheap or too expensive for them to compete with or afford.
