order of the day
What's happening now
Order of the day has two main uses.
In parliamentary or military contexts, it's the official agenda—business scheduled for consideration: The sergeant read the order of the day.
More commonly, it describes whatever is prevalent or appropriate at a given time: Layoffs were the order of the day during the recession.
Casual dress is the order of the day.
