opening bell
Market session begins
The opening bell is the signal that marks the start of a trading session on a stock exchange, traditionally an actual bell rung at the New York Stock Exchange.
By extension, it marks the beginning of any competitive or consequential activity: The opening bell for the holiday shopping season is Black Friday.
The corresponding close is the closing bell.
