one-twos

Jab-cross sequences repeatedly

One-twos is the plural of one-two, a quick exchange in which something passes back and forth between two parties.

In soccer, it's a passing combination where a player passes to a teammate and immediately receives the ball back: They worked a series of one-twos through the defense.

In boxing, it's a jab followed instantly by a cross.

The term captures any rapid two-beat sequence or exchange.
