olive wood
Gnarled grove lumber
Olive wood is the hard, dense timber of the olive tree, prized for its distinctive grain patterns and warm golden-brown coloring with darker streaks.
It's traditionally used for carving, turned objects, and decorative items: an olive wood cutting board, olive wood rosary beads from the Holy Land.
The wood is durable but works best for smaller pieces due to the tree's gnarled growth.
