off-roaders

Rugged terrain vehicles

Off-roaders are vehicles designed to operate on unpaved terrain—dirt trails, mud, sand, rocks, or rough ground.

Jeeps, ATVs, and certain trucks are off-roaders.

The term also refers to people who drive such vehicles recreationally: The off-roaders gathered at dawn to hit the trails.
