nonplanar
Bent through space
Nonplanar describes something that doesn't lie flat in a single plane.
In geometry, four or more points are nonplanar if no single flat surface can contain them all.
The term appears in chemistry for molecules whose atoms don't arrange in a flat configuration, and in graph theory for diagrams that can't be drawn without edges crossing: The methane molecule has a nonplanar, tetrahedral structure.
