nominalize
Turn into noun
To nominalize is to turn a word from another part of speech into a noun.
Verbs become nouns: "arrive" becomes "arrival," "decide" becomes "decision." Adjectives transform similarly: "happy" becomes "happiness." The process is called nominalization.
Excessive nominalization makes prose stiff and bureaucratic: The implementation of the optimization instead of We optimized it.
