neutral area
Neither side's territory
A neutral area is a space where opposing parties have agreed not to exercise control or engage in conflict.
In sports, it refers to zones between territories—the area between blue lines in hockey, or the central zone in football.
In geopolitics, a neutral area may be a buffer between hostile nations or a demilitarized zone.
The teams met in the neutral area for the face-off.
