natural logarithms
Base-e exponential inverses
Natural logarithms are logarithms using the base *e* (approximately 2.718), the mathematical constant that arises naturally in calculus and exponential growth.
Written as ln(x), the natural logarithm of a number is the power to which *e* must be raised to produce that number.
The natural logarithm of e itself is 1.
Central to calculus because the derivative of ln(x) is simply 1/x.
- lnLogarithm base e
- exponentialIncreasing by constant ratio
- inversesOpposite corresponding elements
- compound interestReturns on reinvested earnings
- continuous growthOngoing increase over time
