nasalised
Spoken through nostrils
Nasalised describes a sound produced with air flowing through the nose as well as the mouth.
In phonetics, vowels become nasalised when they precede or follow nasal consonants like m or n: the vowel in can't is slightly nasalised.
The term also describes speech that sounds excessively nasal, as when someone has a cold.
Also spelled nasalized.
