nanofibre
Microscopic synthetic strand
A nanofibre is an extremely fine fiber with a diameter measured in nanometers—typically less than 1,000 nanometers, or one-thousandth of a millimeter.
Nanofibres appear in materials science, medical research, and filtration technology, where their enormous surface area relative to weight makes them useful for applications like wound dressings, air filters, and tissue engineering scaffolds.
Also spelled nanofiber.
