mule trains

Mountain cargo convoys

A mule train is a line of mules traveling together, typically carrying goods or supplies over difficult terrain.

Before railroads and trucks, mule trains were essential for transporting cargo through mountains and deserts: Mule trains carried silver ore down from the mines.

The image persists in Western lore and trail riding.
