mountain chickadee

Western highland titmouse

A mountain chickadee is a small North American songbird found in western mountain forests.

Gray above with a white belly, it's distinguished from other chickadees by the white stripe above its eye.

Like its relatives, it produces a buzzy *chick-a-dee* call: Mountain chickadees were busy at the feeder all morning.
