morality police
Public decency monitors
Morality police are government or religious enforcers who monitor public behavior for violations of moral codes—dress, interactions between sexes, alcohol consumption, religious observance.
The term most often refers to official units in countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia: Morality police arrested women for improper hijab.
Used more loosely for anyone who appoints themselves arbiter of others' conduct: The internet morality police came for her old tweets.
