moral teaching
Lesson in virtue
Moral teaching is instruction about right and wrong conduct, ethical principles, or virtuous living.
The phrase appears most often in religious contexts—the moral teachings of the Buddha, Catholic moral teaching on marriage—but applies equally to secular ethics.
A moral teaching may be a specific precept or a broader system of values passed from teacher to student, parent to child, or institution to community.
