missing time
Unaccounted-for hours
Missing time is an unexplained gap in memory where someone cannot account for a period—minutes to hours—that seems to have vanished.
The term is most associated with alleged alien abduction experiences, where people report losing time during encounters they can't fully remember: She noticed two hours of missing time after seeing the strange lights.
The concept also appears in discussions of dissociative episodes and trauma.
