mig
Small glass ball
A mig is a type of welding that uses a continuously fed wire electrode and shielding gas—technically called gas metal arc welding but universally known by this shorthand: The shop does mig and tig welding.
The term appears as both noun and modifier: mig welder, mig torch. (Capitalized MiG is the Soviet/Russian aircraft manufacturer.)
