masseurs

Professional muscle workers

Masseurs is the plural of masseur, a man who gives massages professionally.

The term comes from French and traditionally distinguished male practitioners from masseuses (female).

As the profession has formalized, the gender-neutral *massage therapist* has largely replaced both terms in professional contexts: The spa employs several masseurs and masseuses.
