effleurage
Light therapeutic touch
Effleurage is a massage technique using long, gliding strokes along the body, typically performed with flat palms.
The strokes follow the direction of blood flow toward the heart, warming muscles and promoting relaxation.
It's often used at the beginning and end of massage sessions: She began with effleurage to ease tension in his shoulders.
