One-on-one guarding
Man coverage is a defensive scheme in football where each defender is assigned to guard a specific offensive player rather than a zone of the field.
The defender follows their assignment wherever they go: He's got the tight end in man coverage.
Contrasts with zone coverage, where defenders protect areas.
