man-down

Soldier needs help

Man-down describes a situation where someone is incapacitated, injured, or otherwise unable to continue—originally military radio shorthand for a casualty: We've got a man down!

The term extends to any context where a team member is suddenly unavailable: We're man-down for tonight's game, The office is man-down with half the staff out sick.

As an adjective, it describes the resulting state of reduced capacity.
