magnetic field lines
Iron filing patterns
Magnetic field lines are imaginary curves that map the direction and strength of a magnetic field.
They emerge from a magnet's north pole and loop back to its south pole, forming closed paths.
Where lines cluster densely, the field is stronger; where they spread apart, it's weaker.
The concept helps visualize an invisible force: Iron filings scattered near a magnet arrange themselves along the magnetic field lines.
