live streamers
Real-time video hosts
Live streamers are people who broadcast video content in real time over the internet, typically on platforms like Twitch, YouTube, or TikTok.
Most stream themselves playing video games, but live streamers also broadcast cooking, music, conversation, or simply their daily activities.
The format emphasizes interaction—viewers comment and donate in real time, creating a parasocial relationship between streamer and audience: She quit her job to become a full-time live streamer.
