liquifying

Turning to liquid

Liquifying is the present participle of liquefy—to turn something into liquid or to become liquid.

The spelling with an i is less standard than liquefying but appears often enough: The heat was liquifying the butter.

Both forms describe the process of melting, dissolving, or otherwise converting to liquid state.
