licensed practical nurse
Supervised medical assistant
A licensed practical nurse is a healthcare worker who has completed a shorter training program than a registered nurse and works under the supervision of doctors and RNs.
Licensed practical nurses handle basic patient care—taking vital signs, administering medications, changing bandages, and helping patients with daily activities.
Often abbreviated LPN; called licensed vocational nurse (LVN) in California and Texas.
