keypunch
Vintage data entry
A keypunch is a machine that punches holes in cards to encode data, used in early computing before electronic storage.
The verb means to enter data using such a machine: She spent years keypunching payroll records.
The technology is obsolete, but the term survives in references to that era of data processing.
