Door's secret sequence
A key code is a numeric or alphanumeric sequence that identifies a specific key.
In locksmithing, it's the code used to cut a replacement key: The locksmith looked up the key code for my car.
In computing, it's the number a keyboard sends when a key is pressed, allowing software to detect which key was hit.
