jarheads

Devil dogs, informally

Jarheads is slang for U.S.

Marines, referring to their high-and-tight haircuts that supposedly make the head resemble a jar.

The term originated within military culture and can be used affectionately among Marines themselves or dismissively by outsiders: A bunch of jarheads were drinking at the bar.

The singular jarhead follows the same pattern.
