A jardiniere is an ornamental container for displaying plants or flowers, typically a decorative pot or stand placed indoors.
The word comes from French for "gardener." In cooking, jardiniere refers to a garnish or preparation of mixed vegetables, usually diced or cut into uniform pieces: chicken jardiniere, vegetables cut jardiniere.
